Yep, there is an answer to this riddle, and the name of the book needs to be more specific. For all I know, you might just be talking about the Disney movie. Heh.
And let's let someone else answer. But for getting most of it right, you can have $1,000. :3

1) Edgar Allen Poe wrote on both of them.
2) Through the Looking Glass, Alice In Wonderland
3) Lewis Caroll
4) The Mad Hatter
I think I got them all right...

Re: Mini Challenge #2 - CLOSED
In one of the original versions, it reads in the postscript that the answer is 'It is nevar put with the wrong end in front.' but editors thought it was a typing error and didn't understand the word-play. In later editions they corrected what they saw to be a spelling mistake, and the clever answer was lost.

Very good. <3 This is the true answer, but we consider the others acceptable.
Since we've already given away the $2,000, any further remaining/clever responses will be awarded $1,000.
What would you like to do with your prize, sir?

A raven is like a writing desk because it signifies that somebody is going to end up dead.
(If you were a writer of any kind you would totally understand. xD)

It wasn't a serious post, and neither are you a writer.

Seems like someone is a little bitter at the fact that their pun only got cricket noises.
He wouldn't be on these RP forums if he wasn't a writer, let alone a moderator of said roleplaying forums.

Thanks, Claus. At least SOMEONE realizes that in order to RP, you kind of have to have a passion for writing.
Once again, as I told you before, Blood, quit being an ass every chance you get before I shove my cock in your mouth.

Believe me, I wouldn't make it pleasurable.
Though, for you, Nota, I am sure we can work something out so it'll be nice and fun. >3

You may have the leash, but it doesn't mean you'll be in control.
I'll only wear it to please you, but if you get smart, I'll make sure to take it off and tie your wrists with it.
