Contests, anyone?

I realize that earning enough money to participate in the RPs may be tough business for those with a busy schedule, so I've been playing around with the idea of holding contests in which the winners can earn large sums of money (not the real stuff, of course, but that which counts toward the RP), and perhaps other prizes as time goes on.

Of course, these contests won't be restricted to the roleplayers. Anyone who wishes to join can, and if an individual who does not wish to participate wins, he/she may either forfeit the prize to second place, hand it over to whomever they deem worthy, or keep it for possible use later (or whatever their reasoning may be).

The subject of these contests may be based on a number of things, of which anyone can suggest or encourage. For example, AO fan art, fiction, or videos... themes based on character birthdays, seasons, or specific ideas.


So... what do you think? Please answer the poll, and respond to this post with an explanation. Be brutally honest! If I see that the interest is there, I will put forth my best effort to make this work!

I think that competitions sound like a wonderful idea. n_n Unfortunately we still only have a handful of members:(

Aah, am I thankful that we've started off with a positive response.

Yes... I'm hoping our member base will steadily grow, and contests will further encourage some to join. :/

Perhaps we could recruit members from Deviant Art.
I remember seeing a club for the game there. Seeing as we share the same interests would it not be a good idea to ask them to join this site as well?
Also I will ask some of my friends to join. I just played the game myself, and none of my friends have heard of it. However I do know some would be HIGHLY interested in it.

Contests are always a good idea as long as people don't get over competitive. I can't wait to see some contests up to see if I can maintain the pressure of having a time limit.

Actually yes there is the club for AO, coz I'm the admin ^^; but's quite inactive at the moment, I'm sorry to say that all the arts so far belong too me *sigh* I would love to make a contest there if only there were more people participating

I see, I'm not very active on DA however, I wouldn't mind to join it. This will give me more things to draw and I really need the inspiration.

I believe we're already advertised on the deviantART Absolute Obedience fan club, since Freaky_Feline is running it. (I could be wrong, though?) That is a very good idea, though.

I'll begin to write up the guidelines for a contest; however, I would like to see at least five people that would be interested in participating. Makes it a little more challenging, you know.

I'll participate that's for sure, but not in videos I lack experiance and movie clips for that sorry.

Not to worry, I may make the first contest an 'anything goes' sort of thing. Fan art, fiction, poems, amvs, etc.

Of course, anyone is welcome to share their input/ideas of contests that they would like to see.

Even with an anything goes, will you state a theme?

saw the first challenge, and I'm sad to say now that I have sleep in my system I can't draw >> bah....Oh well I have a lot of time to do this ^^ however do we send the pictures we have via PM and it gets voted on without people knowing hew drew it, or should we just post it right away?

Okay how many submissions can we make?
