Re: More Artwork XD
Oh, you really captured Ferdnand's 'sparkle-of-love-ness'. n_n Nice work on both pieces.
Sadly I can't draw anything more sophisticated than stick figures....recognizable stick figures, but stick figures non-the-less.
Keep up the great work, I'd love to see more of your artwork.

Re: More Artwork XD
I noticed. I browsed through your entire gallery and I must say I'm impressed. You show a lot of promise. I would recommend, however, doing your preliminary sketches in a light blue pencil, then inking over with firm solid lines when you are done. When scanned, the blue is mostly ignored so what you are left with is crisp clean lines that can make a world of difference.
At the same time, art is something that is very personal, and I could not forgive myself if I were to hinder your artistic spirit. At the end of the day your artwork is all about 'you', and while I can offer pointers, it's entirely up to you whether or not you wish to take them on board. It is also something that I believe should be done only to the extent that it remains fun; believe me, going over lines for the umpteenth time can be anything but.
I have studied in art classes so I know plenty of theory, but my practical abilities are - as I have mentioned previously - limited to stick men. LOL (I like to think of myself as the next Lowrie ) Keep up the great work.

Re: More Artwork XD
thx I'm very pleased with your response, coz I rarely receive that kind of feedback lol, I will try your advice, I admit I still need a lot of practice and yea I admit about art being part of yourself.
Oh btw I got this artwork which I recently did

Re: More Artwork XD
Cute picture; I've always said that Kia should be kept on a short leash.
Whether or not you need practice depends entirely on what you are aiming for. There is nothing wrong with drawing sketches, or - on the other end of the scale - tirelessly perfected pieces. Each art form has, at some point, gained fame from masters who became renowned for those styles. Abstract art (a form for which Picasso is most famous) could be accused of laziness; a failure to obtain true likeness of the object/person. On the other hand, it can be perceived as a masterful combination of individualism and creativity.
Everything has its value, from the lowliest stick figure, to almost photographic realism. The real challenge is finding the style that suits you best, and that you find most enjoyable to create.
As they rightly say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and it is never possible to impress everyone, but nothing is more important in art than being individual.

Re: More Artwork XD
Thx again and yea I agree, actually abstract is one of my favourite style of art, it is something beyond what meets the eye, and sometimes it's an easier medium to express myself or my feelings with it, and it is the same with poetry. And so far my fav art styles are also realism and anime, and the thing that I like two extremes such a realism and abstract are really part of my personality XD XD
Now as for practice I know I have a great deal of imagination, but what I lack is the skill in doing it, oh well at least I'm trying my best. Oh and also I'm currently sketching a fanfic about Kia's childhood and I will post in on a fresh topic

Re: More Artwork XD
I would be happy to proof-read or oversee the work you have done so far and offer any advice that I can. Kia's backstory is a very emotional one, and therefore it is extremely important that those emotions are conveyed powerfully; artistic accuracy comes second and pales in comparison.

Re: More Artwork XD
I REALLY LOVE emotional stories ( and those are usually sad and tragedic), that's one of the reasons I picked up Kia's past but it is always harder to put them in words. oh btw do you have msn by any chance?

Have I told you lately that you are my hero? You are my hero I actually heard this song on the radio this morning - if only Shania knew what she has inspired
